Critical next step.... Don't forget to follow up the interview ! ! A simple letter and/or a follow up call is all that it takes to maintain in the eyes of the person you interviewed with that you are competent, professional and thorough. Below, you will find a sample thank you letter copy that will cover the main points necessary to express your appreciation for the opportunity to interview. A lengthy letter is unnecessary. The two main elements of the letter are to confirm your interest and capability for the job now that you possess more knowledge than before about the job. The second element is the thanks. These thank you letter templates are intended to be modified to fit your needs. Those terms highlighted are those requiring your input. The entire template can be changed or left as is. It should be printed on matching paper and stationery as your resume if it is to be mailed. It may sent via email to a specific individual as the text of the message with nothing more included. Be careful to make sure that the email version if used, is not formatted to Word or another program that may not look the same to the recipient if they are using different software. Time permitting, to re-type the message (not copy/paste) is the best for email, as there are unseen carriage returns when you paste in most cases. Your follow up letter should be presented in as professional of fashion as possible. An obvious thrown-together or copied message could reflect in conflict with the idea you are attempting to portray by sending the letter in the first place. Interview
